The Ten District: Downtown Jenks' Legacy of Excellence
Exactly ten blocks of downtown retail and restaurant concepts creating a uniquely vibrant experience in the heart of Jenks, Oklahoma.
Our Mission & Vision
Our Mission
To continuously build on the Jenks legacy of excellence and to extend this excellence to all aspects of life to those that live, work or visit Jenks.
Why This Matters
Decades of unprecedented growth have delivered new stakeholders to Jenks. The Ten reflects the voices of both young and old stakeholders alike, honoring our past while encouraging a forward-thinking vision.
Our Vision
Creating a downtown where all people can pursue healthy and happy experiences through intentionally inclusive partnerships between public, private, and non-profit sectors.
One of The Ten's greatest assets is the mix of historic building structures alongside new development. We're actively addressing the challenge of connectivity to transform downtown into a truly pedestrian-friendly district, connecting neighborhoods, parking spaces, and activity nodes.
Strategic Priorities
1
Economic Development
Develop a comprehensive economic vision and retail recruitment plan prioritizing locally owned, unique businesses alongside strategic national anchors.
2
Beautification & Connectivity
Improve streetscape elements, expand public art initiatives, and enhance physical connectivity within and around downtown.
3
Community Engagement
Build a culture of authentic engagement and facilitate strategic partnerships to produce balanced activations throughout The Ten District.
Through these strategic priorities, we're working to position The Ten as reliable, responsive, representative, and mission-directed while supporting a thriving and diverse storefront economy.
Who We Are
The Ten was founded in late 2021 with the goal of jumpstarting and supporting the revitalization of Downtown Jenks. Independent, privately funded, and citizen-led, we bring business and neighborhood leaders together to advance strategic planning and community building efforts.
Data-Driven
We accumulate, analyze and leverage data and community feedback in real-time to assist key stakeholders in establishing our unique value proposition.
Collaborative
We work closely with the Jenks Chamber of Commerce, The City Of Jenks, and elected officials to maximize impact and coordinate efforts.
Tech-Enabled
We utilize technology to significantly enhance awareness, education and community engagement throughout The Ten District.
Our goal is to increase return on investment for Downtown Jenks while competing with regional attractions like the Rose District, Cherry Street, Utica, and Brookside.
The Ten Brand Story
About The Name
The Ten is the heartbeat of Jenks and spans exactly 10 blocks west of the Arkansas River until you hit the old Midland Valley railroad tracks. Jenks Main Street is central to our state's excellence, and our name honors both this geographic reality and our commitment to excellence.
Community-Driven Approach
Our branding wasn't created in isolation. Over a full year, we organized more than 25 focus groups with stakeholders ranging from the Mayor and City Council to students, business leaders, and longtime residents. We studied historical documents and interviewed Jenks "lifers" to ensure our brand authentically represents our community.
The Ten brand has reached over 90% of Jenks residents with more than 1 million impressions and 70,000 community interactions, creating a powerful platform for downtown revitalization.
The Ten's Unique Value Proposition
The Ten is known for its legacy of excellence anchored by Jenks Public Schools (JPS) located in the heart of the district. With a graduation rate over 90%, young families migrate from across the Tulsa metro area specifically to send their children to JPS.
Nestled along the banks of the Arkansas River with easy access to downtown Tulsa, The Ten attracts young, affluent, and educated professionals while maintaining a quaint feel with low crime rates and all the amenities of a larger city.
